Rock Show Evacuated in Rotterdam After Bus Filled With Gas Canisters Found

The Dutch police evacuated a rock show in Rotterdam due to terrorist threats prior to a bus filled with gas canisters being discovered near the venue. The bus was reported to have Spanish plates and the driver was arrested by the Dutch police and he’s currently into custody. According to a Reuters article, the Dutch police received a tip from Spain about a possible terrorist attack  at Maassilo, the venue where a California based rock band was set to play.

The band hilariously called Allah-Las cancelled the concert at the last minute following the horrific discovery .

The concert should have taken place in central Rotterdam, at an exhibition venue with capacity for more than one thousand people. Even if Rotterdam’s mayor Ahmed Aboutaleb tried to play down the now-foiled potential terrorist attack after being tipped off by Spanish authorities by saying that it’s not clear if the detection of the bus was connected with the threat-tip, the bus had Spanish plates and this happened just a week after the Barcelona massacre.

“It would be wrong at this moment to pile up these facts and conclude … there was a plan to attack with gas bottles, etcetera, because that was the picture last week in Barcelona. I would be careful with that.”

According to the Dutch authorities, it was simply a black haired plumber in a bus filled with gas canisters driving to and from for whom they had been warned by Spanish police. It was coincidence, a man doing his job. Move on, nothing to see.
