An eighteen year old Californian woman live-streamed a fatal car crash via Instagram, a Facebook company. In the aftermath of the horrific event, she filmed her dead sister prior to calling 911. According to early reports, eighteen year old Obdulia Sanchez was live-broadcasting herself on Instagram on Friday as she was driving her vehicle on a Californian highway whilst intoxicated.
Two (other) fourteen year old girls were in the backseat of the car and neither one was wearing a seat-belt. Sanchez rolled the car over into a barbed wire fence and afterwards she crashed into a field nearby. Her fourteen year old sister Jacqueline Sanchez was killed in the crash, which occurred near Los Banos, in the close vicinity of Henry Miller Road and Highway 165.
Sheriff Vern Warnke said in an official statement that, let me quote:
“She was in the back seat of the vehicle and allegedly unseatbelted, and upon the vehicle rolling over, it ejected her and killed her,”
The Instagram live stream was recorded by Mary Hernandez of Stockton. She was quoted as saying afterwards:
“At first we didn’t even want to believe it was real. I recorded it and posted it mainly because as someone who uses Snapchat I see a lot of people driving with their Snapchats doing what she was doing so to me it was like an eye opener.”
Obdulia Sanchez says in the video:
“I killed my sister, but I don’t care. I killed my sister. I know I’m going to prison, but I don’t care. I’m sorry baby. I’m a hold it down.”
The other fourteen year old from Fresno was severely wounded in the accident. Obdulia Sanchez is currently locked up in the Merced County Jail and she faces charges of vehicular manslaughter while under the influence and DUI.
The values these people have are certainly profound. Drunk driving, killing minors, bragging of no remorse. We certainly have a bright future ahead of us, isn’t it? The video of the crash can be seen here.
If you are feeling sorry for Obdulia, well, you must understand she is a morally culpable adult and failed to take responsibility after the crash, as she didn’t even go so far as to immediately stop streaming and call 911. She had to “rep” herself first to make sure her “creds” were being projected to her viewers. She is morally bankrupt and culpable for a homicide.
