Terror in Vienna: Knife Rampage Leaves Several Injured

knife attack vienna

A manhunt is underway in Austria’s capital Vienna, after a knife rampage/a mass stabbing attack left several people injured, some of them in serious condition. The knife attack took place in the city center, as an unidentified man randomly attacked pedestrians using a knife. At least three people suffered bodily injuries in the attack, an Austrian family of three respectively. The attack took place outside of a Japanese restaurant.

Earlier reports have the attacker fleeing the scene near Vienna’s Nestroyplatz subway station, and heading towards Praterstern station, where another innocent bystander was stabbed. The attacks took place in Vienna’s second district Praterstrasse, where a massive manhunt is underway. The victims were rushed to a local hospital at approximately 7.45 p.m.local time. The area where the stabbings took place is currently in lock-down and there’s a massive police presence at the scene.

The attacker is still on the run after fleeing the scene on foot; there are reports about a Special Forces unit arrived at the scene, while heavily armed law enforcement officers are guarding the entrances of the buildings in the vicinity. Residents were advised to avoid leaving their homes.

If you ask a liberal, the problem is that Austrians don’t have enough knife laws. Knife control on its way, stay tuned, this is a developing story.
