Ahmed Amin El-Mofty is a 51 year old man who was killed by police after he targeted law enforcement officers in a possible terrorist attack. The shootings occurred on Friday and Ahmed Amin El-Mofty was killed by Pennsylvania police after the suspect attacked a number of officers in downtown Harrisburg and Allison Hill on Friday afternoon.
The first shooting took place on at around 4 p.m. on Friday, when the suspect fired multiple shots at a police cruiser in the area of 3rd and State Streets. Fortunately, the officer inside the vehicle was not injured, even if the windows of the car were shattered by bullets. Twenty minutes later, Ahmed Amin El-Mofty attacked a Pennsylvania State Police car, and this time the female officer inside was injured by gunfire. However, as per Dauphin County District Attorney Ed Marsico’s statement, she’ll recover soon, i.e. she did not sustain life threatening injuries.
Federal, state, and local law enforcement continue to work together to investigate last night’s attack on law enforcement. I have been in contact with the Director of Homeland Security, @PAStatePolice, and the Capitol Police.

Three separate shootings took place before Ahmed Amin El-Mofty ended up getting killed by law enforcement officers. As per Ed Marsico’s intelligence, the suspect recently traveled to the Middle East and it had ties to Harrisburg and Cumberland County.
